Action
Dermisol Cream aids healing by removing dead and necrotic tissue from affected areas.
This is achieved by differential swelling of necrotic and healthy tissues leading to separation of the devitalised areas and embedded debris.

When used for treating udder lesions in cattle, the udder and the teats should be washed immediately before the next milking.

Q & A
- Q. If my dog licks the ceam from her chest can this cause any damage to her mouth, because her gums have a gone a brown colour and she keeps licking her mouth.
- A.
Yes - you really need to stop her licking at it because it will cause some mild irritation of the soft tissues of the mouth. Remember, Dermisol is designed to strip away damaged tissue, so it's not very good even for healthy gum!
I doubt there's any permanent harm done; however,if in any doubt I'd suggest you ring your vets and have a chat with them about it. - Q. I used dermisol cream on dogs paw last night and this morning his paw has swelled, is this normal
- A.
Dermisol works by causing swelling ; the swelling then forces and dead or dying tissue to separate, allowing the healthy layers to heal properly. So, some swelling is normal; however, if the swelling is over a wider area than you applied the cream to, or if your dog seems especially painful or lame, it might be a good idea to stop using the Dermisol and use something like hibiscrub in water instead.
If you're worried about the severity of the swelling (or the cut!), or if its spreading up the leg, you should contact your vet for advice in case he's having an allergic reaction; or there's infection that's spreading.
Hope that helps!
